Taking Charge of your own Recovery

Taking charge of your own recovery is a key step to having a good outcome. It's like being the lead contractor on a job site.

Your job is to make sure your return to good health meeting your satisfaction. You just can't leave it all the the trades. Those being therapists, doctors and social workers. Their roles have a slightly different focus than the survivor who wants their health back despite the odds.

In my mind I chose full health and anyway I could get it. Though I couldn't talk, read or write after the stroke I didn't let that stop me. The same attitude got my left side moving again.

Watch this interview about handling your own recovery from Jim Pettitt who did that very thing and as you can see he made a full recovery.
