Stroke Pervention, Acetaminophen and Statins Study lowers cholesterol
Stroke Pervention by two new studies confirm the risk drops by 20% if you take a combination of acetaminophen and statins.
Here's your primer on those drugs. The first is a pain killer replacement of ASA ( Acetylsalicylic acid ) or as most of us say, Aspirin. We've been told for years taking a daily children's dose of ASA will thin your blood and help prevent Stroke. Apparently we can take it to do the same job which is wonderful for those how can't take ASA.
Combining both ( there are many so see your doctor ) is perfect for lowering your risk just like ASA with a Statin has done for years.
If your about to ask “What's a Statin” well here's the answer in plain english.
A Statin lowers the “Bad” cholesterol in your blood that likes of stick to the arteries and can become a clot that blocks blood to the brain. The starved for blood brain cells die and you've now had a brain attack.
So when was the last time you had your cholesterol checked?
