Stroke Spasticity
Stroke spasticity, yet another condition survivors may have to deal with.
Received a note from Carmelo who didn't leave a E Mail address.
His questions was about this very subject. Spasticity is a condition where the stroke survivor suffers from involuntary muscle movement and unusual body positions.
Do I deal with it in my book?
The simple answer is yes.
The left side of my body didn't work at all. Nothing and I couldn't feel it. To me it was just dead flesh. Carmelo's' body obviously is not doing what he want's it to do. I was facing the same problem. So he wants to know if he should buy my book?
The simple answer is once again, yes.
The doctors have done their job as have everyone associated with his recovery. The next step is his, get used to his condition or rewire.
I chose to rewire, it's a mental therapy not necessarily offered by hospitals. How I got my muscles to work and then work properly was a huge challenge. Carmelo faces the same thing.
People I've met have given up talking because they couldn't get the words the come out right. The same thing happens when you can't control your muscles for walking, jumping and lifting.
It's one of the main topics in my book, "I had a stroke, didn't like it so I got rid of it".
When any survivor has gone through the programs, therapies, pills and still wants a better recovery it's time to see how thriving survivors like myself did it.
