It will make your head spin researching how to have an effective recovery attitude. Thousands of pages on the internet have wonderful information. You could spend a life time reading before attempting our own recovery.
In a perfect world all those affected by stroke would have at their disposal every modern technique without cost so they wouldn’t have to choose based of cost. It’s not a perfect world and most can’t afford perfect health.
So what do you start with; outpatient therapy, acupuncture, alternative medicine or a hyperbaric chamber? How about a good attitude? It's simple and costs nothing. Having a good one has an unbelievable influence on the outcome of all the other things you do to recover. As in all successful journeys you have to start at the beginning, not the middle and certainly not the end.
A journey also requires work so be ready for lots of it. Let get one thing straight to start with. There is not miracle drug you can take and just sit back and wait for your full and miraculous recovery.
The White Knight of Good Health has it and he was driving the Health Truck that ran you down. It was a hit and run.
So what’s this good state of mind look like? It looks like yesterdays shopping trip. While visiting friends I learned about a coat sale. You see I need a warm durable coat because last summer a decided if I don’t throw out my “more than a decade old coat” I would never buy a new one. I do tend to hold on to things way past their due date.
The coat my friend bought was perfect of me. Looked great, was insulated and had all the pockets I’d ever need. I want exactly that coat. With a sale being a sale there was no time to waste.
My better half and I drove to the store. On the way over my better half started to suggest if the store didn’t have it maybe another one would, opening the door up for doubt. I closed that door quickly by saying the perfect coat would be there in fact the coat would find its way to me.
This is an example of what I call my “stroke logic”. I focus on my outcome in my mind; pick a route to get me there and then head physically there. My mind is now locked on the outcome I see in my mind.
We arrived at the store and there were lots of coats by the same manufacture but as hard as we looked we couldn’t find the right one. As I continued to look for the coat my better half talked to a salesperson. She described the coat and was told five minutes ago someone returned the very coat we’re looking for and it’s my size.
Wow. I now own my perfect coat.
A good attitude and focusing on the desire outcome can lead a willing person to their perfect outcome. Whatever therapy you chose, a positive mind set and focus returns a better outcome than you get with a lot of doubtful thinking.
The journey starts at the beginning in your mind and then you physically head towards it. Sit around waiting and you get more waiting. Start your journey with a good recovery attitude and you’re already headed towards your goal.
